BloodPril Ingredients
BloodPril declares six ingredients: Hibiscus Extract, Garlic Bulb Powder, Hawthorn Berry, Magnesium, CoQ10 and Olive Leaf Extract.
Each ingredient's role is stated plainly, though we note openly where the supporting research is stronger versus more mixed.
Six ingredients, six stated roles
BloodPril names all six of its ingredients on the label along with their intended purpose. What is not published is the exact milligram amount of each — the role of each ingredient is transparent, the specific quantities are not.
All 6 ingredients, one by one
Hibiscus Extract
Rich in anthocyanins. A 2010 study published in the Journal of Nutrition found hibiscus tea extract associated with measurable reductions in systolic blood pressure over a six-week period in adults with elevated readings, functioning similarly to a mild natural ACE inhibitor.
Garlic Bulb Powder
Contains allicin, the compound responsible for garlic's characteristic effects. A well-cited meta-analysis (Ried et al.) pooling multiple trials found garlic supplementation associated with meaningful blood pressure reductions in people with elevated readings, supporting arterial flexibility and reduced vascular resistance.
Hawthorn Berry
A traditional European cardiac tonic with centuries of use. The evidence is genuinely mixed: some smaller trials suggest support for blood flow and mild vasodilation, but a larger Cochrane-style review focused on chronic heart failure outcomes found the evidence inconsistent. We view this as supportive rather than proven, and encourage reading our fuller take.
Magnesium
An essential mineral involved in over 300 enzymatic processes in the body, including vascular muscle relaxation. Multiple meta-analyses show modest but real blood pressure reductions from magnesium supplementation, particularly in people with lower baseline levels.
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10)
An antioxidant compound involved in cellular energy production, concentrated in heart tissue. Several small trials and meta-analyses suggest modest blood pressure benefits, though study quality and sample sizes vary considerably across the literature.
Olive Leaf Extract
Contains oleuropein, a polyphenol studied for cardiovascular support. Clinical research, including at least one trial comparing it against a common blood pressure medication, has found olive leaf extract supporting healthy blood pressure levels in some populations, alongside anti-inflammatory effects.
Being honest about mixed evidence
Not every ingredient here carries equally strong research. Hibiscus, garlic and magnesium have the most consistent published support for blood pressure specifically. Hawthorn's evidence is more mixed, particularly for harder clinical endpoints like heart failure outcomes — see our full discussion in hawthorn berry: the honest picture.
A note on interactions
Garlic and hawthorn in particular can interact with blood thinners and blood pressure medication. If you take any prescription medication, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before starting.
